If you are just starting, a 3 feet tank with an Over-Head filter and sponge filter will do. Buy some pigeon blood or turquoise for they are stronger (Try not to purchase fishes from multiple places first, till you have some quarantine tanks available) When buying fish remember this few rules:
- Observe the tank of fishes whether are they active.
- Droppings are in black color (dropping in white indicates internal diseases)
- Do not choose fishes whose eyes are big and not to the face. (For they will not grow much)
- Make sure the fins are erected. Ask the owner what type of food the fishes are taking.
